NBC announced its fall premiere dates yesterday, and you can read them all at Give Me My Remote. But there are two particularly relevant to our interests here. New DC Comics drama Constantine will premiere on Friday, October 24th at 10/9c. And the second season of comedy About a Boy will begin on Thursday, October 14th at 9:30/8:30c. Anyone looking forward to these?
NBC has unveiled the first trailer for Constantine, their adaptation of DC Comics’ Hellblazer. It stars Matt Ryan and will air on Fridays in the fall. And if you’d like to see a little more, check out this clip from the first episode at IGN.
One more bit of TV news from a weekend packed with it: NBC has confirmed that their adaptation of Dracula, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, will not return for a second season. Will you miss it? I kind of will, actually – it had its problems, but it was also pretty fascinating at times, and the whole alternative energy plotline was so delightful zany that I was hoping to see more of it.
We don’t have a premiere date yet for NBC’s new Rosemary’s Baby miniseries, based on the novel by Ira Levin and starring Zoe Saldana, Patrick J. Adams, and Jason Isaacs, but we do have a few images featuring the young couple at Entertainment Weekly – and a very teasing teaser, which is basically just a poster with the sound of a baby crying. Thoughts?
Jesse L. Martin has joined the CW’s Flash pilot as Detective West.
NBC has picked up pilot Ellen More or Less based on Amy Parham’s book 10 Lessons from a Former Fat Girl.
They’ve also picked up to pilot their adaptation of DC Comics’s Constantine.
NBC has released a new trailer for comedy About a Boy, based on the novel by Nick Hornby and starring David Walton, Minnie Driver, and Benjamin Stockham. The show will have a special preview on Saturday, February 22nd after the Olympics, and then start in its normal timeslot on Tuesday, February 25th at 9/8c. Warning: This trailer got me a bit teary. In a good way.
Speaking of things we’re not emotionally ready for (see also: the Sleepy Hollow finale trailer I posted a little while ago), Hannibal returns to NBC on February 28th, and yesterday the network unveiled this amazing promo/sneak peek. I don’t even know what to say, except . . . oh my God.
Two new comedies based on books have premiere dates set! About a Boy, based on the novel of the same name by Nick Hornby, will have a special preview on Friday, February 21 at 10:30/9:30c after the Olympics. It then starts in its normal timeslot on Tuesday, February 25th at 9/8c.
