National Geographic has started casting for the second of its TV movies based on Bill O’Reilly’s historical books. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rob Lowe (The West Wing, Parks and Recreation) will play President John F. Kennedy in Killing Kennedy, with Ginnifer Goodwin (Big Love, Once Upon a Time) playing his wife Jacqueline Kennedy and Michelle Tractenberg (Buffy, Gossip Girl) in the role of Marina Oswald, the wife of Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.
“We are thrilled to be working with Rob Lowe, Ginnifer Goodwin and Michelle Trachtenberg, three gifted artists who have responded to this timely, authentic and entertaining material,” said Howard T. Owens, president of the National Geographic Channels, in a statement announcing the news Tuesday. “With Killing Kennedy, timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK, National Geographic Channel continues to bring daring, culturally significant television events to our growing global audience.”
Thoughts? Do Lowe and Goodwin look suitably Kennedy-esque to you?
