Gotham Picked Up for Full Season

GothamFox announced yesterday that Batman prequel Gotham has been picked up for a full first season of 22 episodes. From the network’s statement, via Give Me My Remote: “Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon have created an incredibly rich world, with characters that draw you in and a cast that brings to life these heroes and villains in a way we’ve never seen before.” Are you looking forward to more of Gotham?

Fox Premiere Dates: Bones, Sleepy Hollow, Gotham, & More

GothamFox has announced their full list of fall premiere dates! As previously announced, Sleepy Hollow will return for season two on Monday, September 22nd at 9/8c. We now know that it will be preceded by the series premiere of Gotham on the same day at 8/7c. And Bones season ten (!) will premiere on Thursday, September 25th at 8/7c. Trailer: Backstrom

BackstromFox has also released a trailer for Backstrom, their upcoming detective show from Bones‘s Hart Hanson and based on the books by Leif G.W. Persson (sadly not yet available in English). It stars Rainn Wilson, Genevieve Angelson, Kristoffer Polaha, Dennis Haysbert, Beatrice Rosen, Page Kennedy, and Thomas Dekker. You can see some pictures from the show at Give Me My Remote.

Trailer: Wayward Pines

Wayward PinesFox has unveiled the first trailer for their event series Wayward Pines, which is based on the novels of Blake Crouch and produced by M. Night Shyamalan. The thriller stars Matt Dillon, Melissa Leo, Juliette Lewis, Carla Gugino, and Terrence Howard, and the show will premiere sometime in 2015. TV Development News: The Magicians, Boston Marathon, Marvel

Syfy is developing a TV adaptation of Lev Grossman’s The Magicians.

Fox is working on a Boston Marathon bombing event series based on the book Long Mile Home.

Marvel has confirmed that its Netflix shows will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Xbox is developing a show based on Warren Ellis’s thriller Gun Machine.

Movie Updates: Pan, Under Milk Wood, Wolverine & More

Levi MillerLevi Miller will play the title role in Pan.

Rhys Ifans is going to star in back to back English and Welsh adaptations of Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood.

Fox has announced a bunch of release dates for Marvel things, including Fantastic Four 2 and a Wolverine sequel.

Sofia Coppola is in talks to direct a live-action The Little Mermaid.

Warner Bros. has acquired Harlan Coben’s new book Missing You.

Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin may direct the adaptation of Jo Nesbo’s The Son.

Bones Renewed & Moving Back to Mondays

BonesTwo big pieces of news for you, Bones fans! First of all, the show has been renewed for season ten. From the press release quoted at Give Me My Remote:

“Over the course of nine seasons, BONES has grown from a hit crime procedural into a beloved pillar of our lineup that resonates with fans in a way that only the best of shows can,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company in a statement. . . . “Our viewers have embraced Emily, David and the entire cast and characters of BONES as their very own, and I think they are going to love what Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan have planned for Season 10!”

In addition, the show is moving back to Mondays! Starting on March 10th, it will return to its 8/7c Monday slot (after Almost Human) is done for the season.
