First Clip from Ian McKellen’s Mr. Holmes

Mr. HolmesWell, this is delightful. Ian McKellen has shared a first clip of himself as elderly, retired Sherlock Holmes in upcoming movie Mr. Holmes, based on novel A Slight Trick of the Mind by Mitch Cullin. It also features Milo Parker as Roger, Holmes’s housekeeper’s son. McKellen also shared the teaser poster. The movie premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival yesterday. No word on a general release date, but I’ll keep you posted.

Emily Mortimer and Julianne Nicholson have been cast in Ten Thousand Saints.

Anthony and Joe Russo will reportedly return to direct the third Captain America movie.

The adaption of Between Shades of Gray has a writer and director, and I’m scared/hopeful about how that movie will come out.

We’ve also got a director and writers for the Choose Your Own Adventure movie, the concept of which still confuses me.

First Poster for Fifty Shades of Grey

50 Shades of GreyFifty Shades of Grey won’t be in theaters for a little over a year yet – Valentine’s Day, 2015 – but Universal has already released the first poster for the movie. (You can see a bigger version at Deadline.) Interestingly, it features only Jamie Dornan as Christian, and from the back – no face, and no Dakota Johnson (Ana) at all. The tagline: “Mr. Grey will see you now.” What do you think, book fans?

First Poster for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1

MockingjaySome of us (okay, me) just finally saw Catching Fire, but promotion is already ramping up for the third Hunger Games movie, Mockingjay – Part 1. Lionsgate has released the first officially poster for the movie; see a larger version at The Hollywood Reporter here or by clicking on the thumbnail. None of the characters are shown, but there is a big glorious mockingjay symbol, as you’d expect. The movie will hit theaters on November 21st.
