Here’s a Friday afternoon treat for enthusiastic Outlander fans: Starz recently held a fan Q&A in New York with executive producer Ron Moore and author Diana Gabaldon, and now they’ve made the whole 49-minute video available for fans elsewhere to watch, as well. Enjoy!
Need a refresher on the Iron Man movies before seeing Iron Man 3? If you live near a participating AMC Theatre and can take the day off on Thursday, May 2nd, you’re in luck: They’re having an Iron Man Marathon. It will start with Iron Man at 1 p.m., followed by Iron Man 2 and The Avengers, and ending with the premiere of Iron Man 3 at 9 p.m. It looks like tickets are $30 and include special Iron Man 3D glasses, a lanyard, and more. Get the details.
Want to see a whole bunch of Oscar-nominated films all at once, including six adaptations? You’re in luck: AMC Theatres has announced the locations for this year’s Best Picture Showcase, their annual event that allows super-dedicated Oscar enthusiasts to see all nine Best Picture nominees over two Saturdays (or, in a few locations, all at once the weekend of the awards). This year the two-weekend event is happening on February 16th and 23rd, and the marathon is on the 23rd. Here are the participating theaters. I’ve been tempted to try this ever since I first heard about it a few years ago, but I’m worried that trying to watch so many movies in a row would diminish the impact of each one and keep me from actually enjoying them. Has anyone tried it? Do you recommend it? Anyone else tempted?
