Man of Steel “Battle of Smallville” Featurette + HitFix Interviews

Man of SteelThis Sears-tied featurette contains a bold defense of product placement in Man of Steel that we can choose to believe or not, but hey, at least they’re addressing it. It’s also got some new footage and commentary from stars Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, and Kevin Costner, producers Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder, co-producer Wesley Coller, writer David S. Goyer, director Zack Snyder, and production designer Alex McDowell.

Then head over to HitFix to read some good stuff from Dan Fienberg’s set visit, including an interview with Henry Cavill, one with director Zack Snyder, and a more general piece about the set visit.

Trailer & Clips from The Wall

The WallMusic Box Films has released the first trailer for The Wall, based on the 1962 German feminist dystopian novel by Marlen Haushofer. It’s about a woman left on her own to survive at a remote hunting lodge when a mysterious invisible wall cuts her off from the rest of the world. (I haven’t read it, and I’m not saying they’re similar in general, but that part of the premise sounds a lot like Under the Dome. Interesting.)

Here’s a clip. This movie looks really fascinating, though potentially difficult to watch.

And here’s an exclusive clip from ComingSoon.net.

NBC Renews Hannibal

HannibalNBC has finally announced Hannibal‘s fate: according to Give Me My Remote, the show has been renewed for a second season of 13 episodes. I’m so relieved – I’ve come to really enjoy this show, and was not necessarily expecting this good news. From the statement quoted at GMMR:

“We’re so proud of [HANNIBAL creator] Bryan [Fuller]’s vision for a show that is richly textured, psychologically complex, and very compelling,” NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said in a statement. “There are many great stories still to be told.”

Trailer: Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

Percy Jackson: Sea of MonstersVia Deadline, we’ve got a new trailer for Percy Jackson sequel Sea of Monsters, due in theaters on August 7th. It is, of course, based on the book by Rick Riordan, and I just noticed that the screenplay was written by Marc Guggenheim of Arrow. Interesting! It stars Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, and Brandon T. Jackson as its central trio, and the cast also includes everyone from Sean Bean to Nathan Fillion to Stanley Tucci to Yvette Nicole Brown to Anthony Stewart Head. Impressive.
